Ron, you were right, I was wrong.WeeJavaDude said:Well based on your posts Mikey, If I recall you were agreeing that the 811 would not be updated again so September is well withing the never range. June is too close for my comfort level. To make it interesting, how about end of July.
Dick.. the 921 and 942 are HD DVRs. Signatures are the things that are at the bottom of our posts. Mine now says something along Idiot, DBSTroll and suspected drug user. Oh.. also says something about Perception.
As to "Who's on the right side" Basically the claim was that we won't be getting any more updates for the 811. I figured it would be fun to make a gentlemans agreement and the loser of the wager would place the fact that they were wrong and the other person was right into the agreement. Kinda of a trading places type of bet.
So you and Mikey In? End of July the date.. hmmmm.
Yeah, I thought about just putting it up for 10 minutes, but I decided that would be weak.WeeJavaDude said:Well I am happy to hear 2.89 hit the streets. Now lets hope it goes wide.
Yeah.. I don't recall a two week time period?
Customer beta testing period. The last two never made it into general release.Scott Greczkowski said:It was supposed to go wide today, no word on why its a limited release

ALL Dish receivers receive updates. They have to. Things change on the head end, and they need the receivers to work with them. However, it doesn't mean they haven't abandoned the 811. Of course they have, just like they've abandonded the 921, 721, and others. They already have the replacement lined up.mdonnelly said:Ron, you were right, I was wrong.
An 811 firmware update is being distributed today (P2.89). My sig will be updated.
