811 artifacts

all of a sudden im having artifacts comming on just hd discovery , Is anyone else having this problem?I have a dish 811, is my 811 dying? thanks harvey

It depends on the artifacts you are seeing.

What is your HD output resolution set to? I find that the best overall picture quality, with the least artifacts is when the 811 output is set to equal the rate of the program being broadcast. In the case of Discovery HD, that would be 1080i.

I am curious how the 811 does with taking 720p material to 1080i -- I have a 720p display, and the 811 doesn't do a good job of converting 1080i --> 720p.

they are like red green yellow streaks and the pic gets a little jittery harvey

I haven't seen the streaking.

The picture gets "jittery" for me when I set the 811 to output a 1080i station (like Discovery HD) at 720p. I'm assuming you are talking about stair step/jagged lines and such on the screen when you say "jittery".

thanks for all your advice , it was the 811 box , dish just replaced it. thanks harvey
