8/16/2012 - Dish Remote Access Android App Updated

Well, I tried to use the app again last night. It would show me a guide, although it was the wrong guide (wrong locals). It would not find my DVR. However, when I selected a show from the guide, I could view it (and the sling adapter showed up in the tuner list on my hopper when I did so). Weirdly, while I watched a show, I could not press the "play" button at the top (the other two buttons worked, but the middle one would not respond) so I could not get the pause, ff, etc., buttons.

The display improvements are fabulous, but definitely a work in progress. Makes we sad whenever I see my wife's IPad dish app -- so slick! so much is missing on the droid side... :-(

Sometimes,well most of the time actually you have to give it a kick in the pants.In other words start the app try to get dvr going if no go close the app and try again.

Yeah, that used to work for me. Last night, though, no dice. I restarted the app multiple times. Restarted networking on the hoppa'. Rebooted my router for the hell of it. In the app, I logged out and back in again, and even rebooted the tablet once. None of it had any impact.

Edit: Just tried my smartphone from work; it connected to the hopper without any trouble. I'll try the tablet again when I get home. Maybe something on the server side was getting messed with last night?

It has not been working for me on my android and I got the latest update but then again, it never worked half the time before anyways. Still needs a LOT of improvement. Still broken software as far as I am concerned.

It can be slow going on the kindlefire at first but,once ya get it going works really well.

This new Dish App is heads and tails better than the old version was on our Motorola Cell-it works great now-I can sit in the car while wifes in Wal-mart and watch ball games via the 3g where with the old App the only time it worked was on wifi. For me this is alot better than it was b4.Good work Dish!
