7ft. dish

A friend of mine just gave me a 7 foot dish, rotor and all the cable. I'm going to set it up. Have to pour a slab first. Is this good for C band and for FTA? I know nothing about the C band. Also can I get Ka on it as well as Ku?

Btw, this is a great site. Just really started to do a lot of reading here though I know a little about fta and ota.

Sure, should be fine for C-band, and if it's of the later generation of dishes, for ku also. Mesh needs to be small, the pencil test we talk about here will tell you. Try a pencil thru the holes in the mesh, if it won't go past the lead part it should be ok for ku. As far as KA, no idea-who's using KA for tv these days? I think directv used it for awhile but abandoned it.

I'm not sure but I think this one is a fiberclass solid. Could be wrong bout that though.

Nothing FTA on Ka-band (that's what DirecTV is using via the Slimline dishes, but its all subscription programming)...

Don't know where I got mesh from , lol. Hard to tell without a manufacturer name, and even then it might not be easy to find out. I'd stick a ku lnb on it to find out but I wouldn't tell you
to buy one just to see.
