On Saturday September 11th, I took a 1.5 hour drive down to Primetime Audio/Video of Rockford Ill, in order to obtain a first-hand view of Mitsubishi's 75" LaserVue television. This is the resultant video footage.

Note - aside from titles and transitional inserts, this video has not been edited or altered in any way. The lighting of the room was dimmer than what appears in the video, I suspect that my camcorder (Sony HDR-CX12) automatically compensated for the lower light of the environment. This has resulted in the television's brightness being altered and colors are somewhat washed out. It actually looks better than portrayed in my video! Also I purposely shot video from an extreme angle to illustrate the viewing angle of this set. Again it is far better in person than as portrayed in the video.

Spence

Added the few photos that I had taken with the 5mp camera on my Droid - excuse the blur, not the best camera for taking good looking photos.

Same video - music and captions substituted for chatter. Again playable in resolutions of up to and including 1080p depending upon connection speed.

Here is the video that I had taken from my second visit to see the LaserVue. I made a point to bring along my IR thermometer, and obtain readings from both sides of the television (connection panel on the right hand side, and venting on the left). I had also took a temp of the top, however it was below that of the side panels so I didn't bother to record it.

In addition to temperature, I have footage of the overscan screen from Digital Video Essentials (Blu-ray), which illustrates what looks to be around a 2-3% overscan, and (to my eye at least) very good geometry. I didn't do much by way of showing color or black level because my HD camera's footage is never as good as seeing it with the naked eye.

Still - with the lighter/brighter colors of the Bose system that was running in Demo Mode, you can clearly see that the viewing angle of this television clearly sets it apart from any other rear projection device.

As for the reseller - I can no longer recommend them as an outlet worthy of anything other than demonstration of the product as they are unwilling/unable to compete with the likes of OneCall or Electronics-Expo. This was my second and final visit to the store in Rockford IL.

Here is my second and final video (from the reseller) demonstrating the LaserVue.

Save video, with the audio of my daughter and her friend excised.

I ended up placing my order with OneCall.com, on October 30th and took delivery on November 8th. 3D on this thing is simply the best that I have seen outside of a theatrical presentation!
