I need some help here. Recently I've noticed that my DVR is not taping new shows for programs where I have a timer set to record all new content. There is a manual work around where I cancel the current program timer and recreating the timer. This works but I have over 30 timers with this same problem. So i really don't want to have to recreate 30 plus program timers. Anyone encounter this before and know of an automated solution? It's really annoying me that I am missing new shows cause the dvr doesn't have the guide information that new shows are coming up.

Do you get "No Info Available" in your guide?

Yes, I get the "No Info Available" in my guide

This could be a sign of a hard drive starting to fail. Running a check switch test is a way to force the guide to download. To run a check switch test:

1. Press Menu
2. 6-1-1
3. Select Check switch
4. Select Test
5. Once test is finished cancel out of the menus.

Let us know if this corrects the issue.

First, I incorrectly stated that I was seeing the "No Info Available" msg. In actually I don't see that. When i look at the DVR timers for new shows there is no msg. Just a box without any new episodes showing up. I did try the steps outlined in the previous post but that did not fix the issue. Any other ideas or thoughts? I saw this issue on my last 722k DVR but the hard drive crashed and i needed to replace the box before i could try and troubleshoot the issue. Not sure if the empty timers and the hard drive crash are related.... i hope not.

Zach, I am getting this message. A check switch and a reset is not downloading a new guide. Any advice?

What do you see when you press the dvr button 3 times? Do you see a list of scheduled recordings? If so, is there an X to the left of the scheduled recording or a 1 or a 2 or an antenna icon?
If an X, you can force of recording by moving over to the recording, press info and move of to the Skip icon and then press Select. The box should then change from Restore to Skip.

If you did the check switch correctly it should download the new guide data. Also, 999 - RIGHT ARROW while in the guide will sometimes update it.

How many sats are on the check switch grid? Which ones are they?

Anyway I don't think that that's your issue, I have seen this bug on my 722K before. The timers will go empty usually after editing them a lot. Not sure if you are doing this, but if you are editing a lot of timers after first creating them, try deleting them, re-creating them then don't mess with them anymore. Also, for whatever new shows it isn't recording, does it state "Not a new episode" on the schedule? Or not show up at all? Do the shows have "New." in the description?

381 receiver - is it still good?
