If an HD movie is recorded from the SD TV of a 722, would this movie be in HD if watched from the main TV?

Yes.

Tuner 2 records in HD unless you have set it to a SD feed. Example Food network 110 has both a HD and SD feed if set to record the SD feed either tuner 1 or 2 will record it in SD.

All the tuners on the 722 are HD, the tv2 output is sd. If you record an HD program on tuner 2, playing on the tv1 output will be in HD.
