OK - We've had our 722 for about 6 weeks now. I noticed a couple of reboots the first few weeks - then fairly stable. Yesterday, the box rebooted 4 times (twice while recording a single 90 minute show) - vary annoying.

I've searched the forums - doesn't seem to be a common issue, especially with L4.43. Anything I should look for?

Also - In the counters section of the diag menu; looked like 13 HW Watch Dog timeouts recently occurred and last was caused by '4'. Anyone have the secret decoder ring??

is it rebooting when watching live tv or using the dvr? is it plugged into a surge protector or directly into the wall?

What are the temperatures in the counters section? Rebooting may be due to unit running hot. You should be concerned about temps above 130.

Experienced the same thing on my 722 to a point where the receiver continually rebooted and a replacement had to be sent. I was wondering about the overheating issue also - will have to watch the replacement, although you would think unless the receiver was tightly enclosed with equipment stacked that it wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the responses.

Answers to all comments, . . .

Both TV and DVR, . . . last night twice while I was recording one show - watching live TV. Once while only watching live TV, . . . other while in delayed live mode.

Tonight - it just rebooted twice while watching a recorded show.

I moved the plug from a surge protector direct to the wall - rebooted while in the wall outlet as well.

Unit is on an open rack with the vent opening clear and free.

AC Pwr/HW WD: 19 (was 14 last night)

Latest Watchdog Type: 4

Kernel Panic and OS Monitor WD 0.

How do I read the temp? Update: Found it: HDD High Temp: 131 deg F., Ave Temp: 118 deg F.

It has been hot the last 2 days, . . . but not as hot as it was a month ago. I think I will go get a fan and direct it into the vent, . . . what the heck.

And, . . . when the reboot occurs - I can hear the fan go to full speed for about 30 seconds, then back to nominal once the reboot process starts. Funny - if it is temp related, why wait for the reboot command before ramping the fan to full speed?

And, . . . this 722 was almost useless last night, likely internal temperature related. Constantly would reboot after only a few minutes of use. So bad, we stopped using it (and missed our ability to record one of our shows).

Called Dish - they are sending a replacement. Hopefully - this is not a common issue with the 722.

Wiring for multiple receivers?

Baseball Playoffs starting TBS-HD?????
