722 Not Recording GMA

Oh there's still a good exterior ground to the dish and is also grounded to the cold water line. The only ground at issue is on the power plug to the 722.

I can rule out the ground as an issue when either:

A. your problem is solved

or

B. your ground issue is resolved. If there still is a ground problem at the power plug of your 722, then the ground is not correct. Overload of stray EMI and static will cause loss of signal. You seem to be experiencing loss of signal. If this wouldn't make any difference, I wouldn't mention it at all.

Jeff, Is anyone going to realize that grounding is important? I remember in the old days when 3 prong plugs started showing up and the house plug had only 2. They give you an adapter to convert it. Sometimes when i touched the equipment I felt a shock. This is either static electricity or something in the unit is allowing it to get to the box. that is why the box was grounded so you wouldn't get that shock. You know what this would do to sensitve computer equipment just as well as I do. BIG problems. If it came with a ground lug NEVER cut it off our you could get electrocuted.

Good advice Willie. This isn't a game. There IS a real electrocution hazard when dealing with the ground. And, it REALLY can and does affect the operation of a system. I pray they hear, and the Lord keep them safe.

Just a final update to my problem- After a Tech visit that left me in worse shape than I was before ( not a real biggie, but he wiped out all my settings, left the second tv not receiving anything and walked out scratching his head) and the smart card problems not being resolved but now appearing on other channels too. Called tech support again, and they wanted to send out another tech, for what purpose I have no idea. I finally resolved the issue completly myself- I cancelld the service. Done. Issue resolved. THE END.
Thanks to all of you that tried to help.

Watch out if they try to charge you for that 722, since the ground lug being cut off would void the warranty.
