722 / Both Record Lights Blinking?

Has anybody ever seen this? The receiver has been acting funny for about a month, pausing while watching recorded stuff, so I did a factory reset and after the reboot I'm left with both tuners record lights blinking and the receiver totally unresponsive to anything other than a front panel reset. After a couple hours it will come back and appear ok......unless it's reboots and it's the wait all over again. Before the factory reset I ran a drive diag which showed a read error so I tried another drive (identical) than another (compatible) but same results. Does anyone know the specific meaning (if any) of the rec light simultaneously blinking? Keep in mind, nothing on screen, doesn't appear to be in boot rec.
