During playback of recorded programming I see a very faint band in the middle of the screen. It appears occasionally for a few seconds and then disappears.

It has a yellow/orange hue to it. I can't discern a pattern to its appearance, i.e. whether it's at a specific interval.

Like I said, it's very faint. I'm the only one in the household that has ever noticed it.

It's been doing this for a long time so it's not related to any recent upgrade.

Anyone else seeing this?

Is there any chance a speaker magnet or something near the tv could be the source of the banding?

Is it on all channels or just locals? I have seen interference similar to this on one of my local channels.

Hmmmm, I think that may be the case. I'll have to pay closer attention. Off the top of my head, I know I always see it on UPN recordings.

Kind of a curious situation though, isn't it?

I think in some areas (many?) dish uses an antenna to receive the local signals, digitize them, send them back to the uplink location and then send them to you. If the equipment at the antenna site is not set up properly, stuff like this can and does happen.
