72.7 question

HD locals are mostly on 129 and 61.5. A large number of areas have their locals available on both.

Few, if any, locals will be moved to 72.7.

Reference to 61.5 and 72 are about EASTERN ARC reception. If you are on 129 you are covered for same programming reception as is found on 61.5 and 72. In other words, it takes 2 sats in eastern arc to cover what the 129 sat does in the western arc. There are a few more programs on 110 sat to round out the full deal. The problem with 129 is line of sight (LOS). It is pretty low in the sky. :p

Just wanted to clear this up. Right now 129 & 61.5 have the same channels on them, except for a couple thing like Locals and 9 new HD Channels. 72 doesn't have the same channels as 61.5 right now.

But in the near future 72.7 will have all of the HD National Channels that 61.5 has. 72.7 is basically taking it's place, except for Locals.

One more tibit. If you have the multi sports pack, there are a few channels on 61.5 that are not on 129. So if you are on 129 and want the full multi sports pack experience, you'll need 61.5 for now. I had 110, 118.7, 119 and 129 but when my locals moved off 118.7 I added 61.5 in it's place (seperate dish of course).
