OK 1st 625 HD failed in 24 hours, installed 2nd one and experienced frequent audio drop and pixellation in replay. recording was made in ideal weather with latest software release in single mode with shared view.

Called dish support and they said to unplug it and plug it back in. Whadaya'll think?

Sounds like you have an issue unrelated to your dish system thats causing havoc. Go to the local radio shack or home depot and get an outlett tester and check the outlett that the receivers have been plugged into. Also check to make sure that your cables are tight. Once done with that check your signal strength, menue 6,1,1, on the remote and check satellite 119 transponder 13 to see what the signal level is at.

119 transponder 13 locks at 68. Had a 501 DVR in there with few problems.

Now this is confusing. I heard guys say to test TP 11 & 12 at 119, then others say to test TP 19, 20 or 21 on 119, and now it's TP13 at 119. Which is the right one to test on?

Actually, 11 & 13 on 119 will show the same strength - within a point or two.

11 & 12 on 110 & 119 are the lowest numbers CONUS transponders, and also historically the most stable in strength (dunno why).

In any event, downriver needs to have his dish aimed properly - 68 is WAY too low, and almost certainly the root of his pixellation problems.

That's what I'm thinking. Mine reads about 97-100 at TP11 119, aiming through trees with foliage and I never had ANY kind of rain fade. Even in downpours it only goes down to about 95. I only lost picture once in a very bad T-storm for about a minute or so. But rain. no problem at all. Dunnno if it has to to with the fact that my dish is wall mounted just below the eave. It doesn't even get wet when it rains. Just the LNBF a little.

Dish said that the 68% lock is in their acceptable range, they said anything over 60 was OK. In any event I am going to tweek the dish a bit to see if I can't get a stronger signal. It is mountainess and tree-infested here. We had a cold storm blow in this morning and conditions are far from ideal. I think I'll let the weather clear a bit.

OK re-aimed the dish and did pick up some strength, Still having pixallation and audio drop in playback mode only, called dish support (again!) and was told this time that they were aware of the problem and it would be repaired in the next firmware release. I could not get a date. I dunno, seems like the harddrive again.:(

Anyone notice WSBK color problems tonight?

Losing almost all channels other than locals at night
