My 625 overheated yesterday, in the past I fixed it just by letting it cool for an hour or two, but my sister instead of unplugging just moved it to a more ventilated area. Since then it can't get a satellite signal.
I tried disconnecting and connecting the switch to see if it fixes it but but it didn't help. I also noticed that the TV1 side of the switch shows sparks when you connect it and as soon as you connect tv1 the receiver starts to make a very high pitched noise.
I tried sending the status of the receiver to dish but it doesn't work either, a weird screen appears saying that the phone is not connected with an empty "status" box that if you select it and press up a few times causes the receiver to reset. I know the phone is well connected and even the receiver itself knows it since if you ask it for the connection status it says the phone connection is okay.
Do I need a new receiver? I have the protection plan thingy so would it be free?
