622 problem?

All of a sudden I have no picture. I get the message "no input devices are connected" and check the input and there is no TV. I checked all the connections- they seem fine. I switched the HDMI cable from another TV, and that didn't work.

I am connected to the 622. I checked in another room on TV2 and the Dish works fine there. The set recognizes the DVD Recorder and the OTA antenna, but no TV.

All I have running from the TV is the HDMI cables- one going to the DVR and the other going to DVD Recorder.

I connected component cables and now it seems fine. But when I disconnect those, and leave the HDMI, I get no picture again.

I have read some posts elsewhere that the HDMI inputs on this DVR suddenly quit working. Could this be the case here?

Try component connection, if it's OK, HDMI has gone south.

I ran my first 622 on component for nearly 9 mos before replacing it when the HDD cratered.

I had the same problem but it turned out the HDMI port on my TV had gone bad. The weight of the cable had actually loosened the HDMI port on my TV. If I wiggled the cable I would get a picture. I only had one HDMI input on my TV so I just switched to component cables.

Do you have another HDMI input on your TV? If so, switch to that one and see if you get a picture. Another option is to plug receiver into another HDTV if you have one.

Yeah- I tried all 3 HDMI inputs and none of them worked. When I first discovered the problem, it did work intermittently when I jiggled the cable. That's why I initially thought it was the cable. But now it's not working period.

Just got off a Dish chat. He had me try everything I've already tried again. Still doesn't work. So he's shipping me another unit. He wouldn't give me a 722, though.

Here's to hoping the replacement works. It is the first problem I've ever had with this in 3+ years.
