622 lost all dvr programs!

The other day when I tried to turn on my VIP622, I noticed it was locked up and would not respond. So I held down the power button for a reset. When it came back to life, all my recorded programs on my DVR were gone! Anyone else have this happen? Is there any hope to retrieve them?

Try unplugging and do a hard reboot. Mine did this and they came back by doing this.

Yup, happened to me with my previous model, twice, replaced after second time. No problem with 622. Sorry, I remember how pissed I was. They gave me one months DVR credit. Yippee!

My hard drive failed once. Lost all recording plus had to get Dish to send me a new receiver. Losing your recordings sucks but at least the unit still works. This is the new word I learned after my failure. "Backup"

How are you able to back it up?

Unlike tivo, you cant add content or back it up on a PC?
