622 L4.01 To Spool on Thursday! (Not sure WHICH thursday though)

No. My 622 was updated to L4.01 some time yesterday WITHOUT me asking to be a beta tester

The Dish Software Chart still shows L3.66 and L4.01 as current 622 versions.

Mine showed up sometime yesterday. I happened to notice the HD icons in the guide last night when I finally sat down to watch TV. I was confused as I didn't see any HD Mapdown features, but then I found out that you only see it on the All Subscribed list or the All Channel List. The HD Mapdown doesn't function in my personal customized list.

According to that site you can update the software manually? Here is what it says on the above website.

Updating Software

1. Verify signal from Point Dish:
* Press the Menu button on the remote
* Select System Setup from the Main Menu.
* Select Installation from the System Setup Menu.
* Select Point Dish from the Installation Menu.
* Verify the signal bar is green and indicates "Locked".
2. Power the receiver off with the remote for 15 minutes to take the download.

I didn't think you could download the update yourself, or can you?

By the way I haven't tried it since I am currently at work as I read this.

If the update has been spooled for your receiver then yes, otherwise you can power off all you want but no update will ocurr.

When L4.01 is the only version listed for the 622, you can be pretty sure that the procedure will update you.

Worked fine for me. I just had to go in and edit my personalized list so that the downmapped channels weren't deselected/hidden.
