Several of these channels are on 110 (TNT, HDNet, HDNetMovies and HD Theater) the rest are mirrored on both 61.5 and 129.
Are you saying those you listed as on 110 are not also on 61.5? If thats the case I could put a dish at 110 and also the 61.5 location with a switch or something. The only problem is getting that point ac
ross, because installer will not do anything except whats on their work order, and the only thing being written now is the Dish 1000.
If you have a line of sight for 129, the Dish 1000 will give you 110, 119 and 129. If you only have line of sight for 61.5, then no you cannot get all of the above listed channels. For those channels you need either 110 and 61.5 or 110 and 129.
That's the problem, I do not have line of site to 129 unless I go out into a pasture 180+' away. I can do 110 &61.5, but I'm having a hard time getting that point across in trying to order service & the HD only pack. Thanks for info.
Lines can be run that distance and not have problems with signal strength.
You want 110, 119 & 61.5. This can be done using 2 Dish 500s.

I have a Dish 1000+ and a Dish 500 on my roof...I used to get the 129 sat (was installed in the winter), then in the summer when the tree fluffed up, no more 129. Now I get the 61.5 sat. I only lost my local Fox Sports Network...I'm not a Pistons' fan. Now...if I could only get the Tigers in HD. GRRR...
Tell your installer in advance that you know you don't have LOS to 129 and they will probably come equipped with the stuff to install a wing dish just in case. They need to equip you to receive the service to which you've sub'd and if that means adding the wing they'll have to do just that. You'll be doing them and yourself a favor to try to push this issue in advance of them showing up then not having the right equipment with them. If you can't talk directly with the installer, then call E*'s technical service. I always seem to get traction with them. Once they catch on that you know what you're talking about you can usually get them to do what you want.
One possible issue - some of your programming (local HD channels?) might be on 129 and not on 61.5. You might need to discuss that in advance as well...
Just my 2-cents worth...
Contact a local retailer and explain your situation. He will be better apt to come up with a workable solution.
Have them install a dish 500 for the 110 and 119 and a dish 500 for the 61.5. If they won't buy 2 dishes off Ebay and do it yourself! That's the problem, I do not have line of site to 129 unless I go out into a pasture 180+' away. I can do 110 &61.5, but I'm having a hard time getting that point across in trying to order service & the HD only pack. Thanks for info.
Yes, I know, I stated no line of site for 129 when order was placed, also ask person on phone at the end of conversation did she have down that I needed a Dish 500 and could only see 61.5, she stated she did. Installers showed up with work order for Dish 1000, stated they did not even have Dish 500 on the truck, also stated they did not do 61.5 any more. We spend the next hour or so looking for line of site for 129. I have not given up on the issue yet, but it is very fustrating.
It is my understanding that the very next sat that E* launches will in fact be parked at the 61.5 slot. In any event, E* is not about to abandon us "easterly" subs.
