I did some searching and really didn't see anything exactly like this, so thought I would post. Here's my situation: I had a 942 that worked perfectly, all the time. I wanted more HD channels, specifically NATGEO HD, etc; so I called dish and was told I needed to upgrade to the new box.
They came out and installed the box, and a new 1000.2 dish. Everything else stayed the same, same DPP44 switch, everything.
Since that day, I have found that the box, and all my others, actually, are unable to find most or all of the sats almost every day after the box goes into update mode overnight. No particular one 129, 110, etc have all been affected. I get error message that the signal has been lost, and the only thing that will correct it is a check switch. Once I do this, all's well till the next day.
I've had the techs out here now 6 times - here's what I can think of that they have done so far, all to no avail:
Replaced Box
Replaced Switch
Re-peaked dish, now getting really strong signal (it was never bad)
Replaced all wiring leading into back of 622
Re-grounded everything
Verified that the mount was solid and not shifting
Hard and soft reboots - many times
Verified power inserter connected to port 1
Dish mounted away from the house, and with a 100% direct line to the birds
There may be other things that I will think of, but almost everything possible has been done, and the problem persists.
Sometimes, the box will work when I wake it up for the first time in the day, and then I will get to a channel on that day's sat that will not come in, and I lose everything until I do my daily check switch. Othertimes, it is completely dead right from the start of the day, again, until the checkswitch.
Any ideas on what I can do would be welcome, Dish can't seem to figure it out. They must have spent $1000 so far on all their visits to work on this.
Yes, I do have some diplexers on the system, but I always did - the system worked perfectly until the day that the 622 came.
Thanks.
