56% of viewers would drop ESPN

In the end FNC isn't nearly as expensive as ESPN. And for good reason, FNC didn't bid absurd money for MNF. Of course, MNF is one the most watched shows on cable, scoring over 10 million views. FNC typically has higher ratings than ESPN, but when a game is on, there are several millions more people watching ESPN than FNC. IE, when ESPN is showing something that matters, people are watching it in large numbers. FNC doesn't quite have that peak level of viewers.

Right here Fox is being compaired to ESPN?...Fox has football....ESPN is part of the ABC familly...
This all has to be taken account of.....Due you think the local broadcasters get there NFL programming for free fro there networks?
This is clasic big corperatations getting larger and larger and people think we can pick and choose...This is why you deal with so many channels not one at a time....They like it this way, I do not....hence we will never get to pick and choose

No one is talking about Fox Network. They've been discussing Fox News Channel (FNC) and comparing it's costs to ESPN as a subscription channel.

Of course they are...thats why its a stupid argument!
On a good night FNC gets 200,000 viewers....On Football night....how many million viewers?
I bet Disney channel has 2 times the viewership of FNC all day every day......
What is FNC overhead?....ESPN has multi billion dollar deals......
Should I spout get rid of Syfy, and my rates will drop?...No...
These are contracts that are a spider web of channels tied to them....
So when we talk about ESPN, your also talking about Disney, ABC, and who else?..Thats a big chunk....
FNC is the highest rated network news channel.......You cant compare them to anything on ESPN!

Sorry, but that's not right. Fox News is regularly the #1 CABLE CHANNEL and has been for a while. It beats out ESPN and Disney all the time.

Sorry, gas tax pays for your roads. If you don't drive, you don't pay...
Not entirely. Many local roads are maintained out of government general funds. Local and county.

I know, I administered such as a small town Finance Administrator.

In any event, even if you don't drive, the stuff you consume comes across roads.

I have no idea what Fox content is, other than a vague idea it's conservative. It seems whenever I click thru them, it agitated talking heads, quite upset and emotional. And I don't want my news from such. I don't want to sit thru such.

Walter Cronkite, please come back. And bring Car 54 with you.

I guess you didnt read your own post?
Due to the debates....Yes fox was Number 1 for those 3 months.....It also stated that ESPN is usually higher.....
I could care less....But why you people have to compare one flippen channel is asinine!
All of these networks bundle this crap up.....So to get one you get 12 more.....
Would I love to see ala-cart...hell yes and Im sure I would pat double for less.....It aint gonna happen because is a big game and we are the suckers!

Bottom line is the big network channels pay for the other hundreds of channels that are loosers (money wise, not content) if it was a la cart, half channels would go away...similar to college sports. For most colleges, mens football and basketball drive the funding for all the non money maker sports...if they had to be self funded, they would all dissapear.

Yup, those three months, and the three months after that, so 6 months at least in a row at #1. And that's the facts. BTW, you seem awful agitated for somebody who couldn't care less.

You know what I get sick of!!!
A bunch of arm chair quarterbacks that have all these simple solution to giant problems!!!
I dont care if its politics, war, or even cable tv rates....
Where talking real money hear....Multi billion dollar communication company's doing what ever they can to make me pay more(bundling)
I pay for local sports channels and all the big five season tickets on top of it....I pay to play....
So many whiners who want everything for nothing ,or only pay what they watch......Hello...this is the real world and NOTHING works like that....Its called Capitalism.....and it cost each and every one of us alot of our paychecks!
So I guess I get sick of listening to stupid people who think they have the cure for Cancer, and cant even solve a stomach ache!

Not a fan of the Fox News but I don't think any of the news channels should be ala carte, we already have enough people in their "bubble". We need easy access to all view points plus it's good to know what's feeding these far right/far left wingers. If I had to subscribe separately to Fox News or MSNBC I'm sure I would be staying in my CNN "bubble". ;)

But that's not fair. WHY do I have to subscribe to all this b.s. by Fox (and other channels) just to get my sports? That's ALL I really want. Just like those not liking sports, I still have to pay for stuff I do not watch. I can't just subscribe to locals and sports. But its OK for those who don't like sports to drop the sports? Fair is fair. It's either total ala carte or none as far as I am concerned.

Plus, not to mention all that crap offered by Viacom. When I was a teenager in the early 1980s MTV came out and it was a want and revolutionized the music industry. Today, what does MTV show? They don't show videos anymore, but instead focus on dumb reality TV. I don't have time for this crap and don't want to watch it even if I did. But I have to pay for this garbage as well?

The fact you don't watch Fox news has no bearing on something being A La Carte or not, that isn't a barometer for that. Otherwise everything is A La Carte, and we don't want that. Fox News is one of the most watched cable channels, not just the most watched news cable channel. Making it A La carte would be counter productive. The idea of ESPN (And the poll) is that so many at least claim to not watch or would rather have the reduction in cost and combine that with the overall cost of all the sports channels/RSN's combined. It would be counterproductive to the consumer to take popular channels like Fox News, TNT USA etc out of packages and make them more expensive A La Carte.
Even going back to the beginnings of Satellite and Cable not everything was A La Carte nor is that really a worthy goal.

Instead of being biased, had you said take all news channels and make a separate package that may make some sense, though again most everyone watches them with some regularity, I don't think it would be cost effective to exclude them from regular packages. Why wouldn't you say the same for MSNBC, it has literally statistically a few hundred viewers at times.

We already have several news channels. Let them BID on offering themselves for the lowest cost in a basic essentials package. We don't need 3, 4, 5, news channels, several business news channels, etc. that I have to pay for. Either we move to ala carte model for all, or we don't, Forcing me to pay for the garbage made up stuff on Fox News just to get sports is just as ridiculous as the other way around.

Dish was losing customers left and right when Fox News was blacked out or blacked themselves out or whatever happened awhile back. I don't want to pay for msnbc's fantasy land junk, or 70 percent of the channels, but a la cart isn't happening. The networks won't let it, and the providers are fine with it as well. America's top 250 for the price sounds better than paying the same price for 10 channels in an ad (which is what the popular channels would cost including sports) anyways. I mainly watch sports too.
