54.0 v 54.3 remote

I have the 54.3 remote that my dog loves chewing on. Wife bought a 54.0.

We can't get the new 54.0 to pair to the receiver. What am I doing wrong or is it the "Wrong" model.

What is your receiver?

What proceedure are your using to pair the remote?

Are the led's on the remote lighting up?

Was the 54.0 remote brand new or pre-owned? It may be worth trying the manual "unpair" procedure on the 54.0 remote, just in case the remote was previously paired to another receiver. To try that, press and hold the "SAT" button until all the lights come on, then press and hold the "Home" and "Guide" at the same time for about 10 seconds until you hear a series of beeps.

I have 2 54.0 remotes with my H3 and J3. I have no issues other than what I regard as a weak IR blaster to control the TV.
