New kid on the block with some questions about my 522 receiver.
I have both tuners hooked up to a DPP LBNF and everything is working properly.
Question is , What are the TV2 connections for??? Book says do not use them.
Screen shows single mode. What does the mode button do??
Is there anyway to view one channel on one TV and another channel on a 2nd TV.
Thanks in advance....

Now that you have determined what model you have contact a DIRT member for help with that model. It seems the 512 is really a 522 that has been reprogrammed as a single tuner receiver. I don't know if this is a receiver that failed to pass and be reissued as a reman 522 but some customers have been able to use it as if it was a 522. It is another case of DISH trying to maximize lifespan of recycled receivers like 322's coming back to life as 311X single tuners.

It is a dual tuner. both tuners are working properly, I can even PIP and watch one and record another.
I am not familiar with DIRT,, newbie here..
Thanks for the speedy replies

Dish recycled their old dual independent tuner VIP 522 receiver into a single-experience "512" which is basically a 522 locked into solo mode. If this is an extra receiver, the solo DVR costs "only" $10/mo, rather than $17/mo like an uncrippled 522 would. Whether you can convert your 512 into a 522, I have no idea. But expect to pay $7 more per month.

upgrade from 30 inch to 39 inch dish on 61.5
