I have a question about the dolby 5.1 optical output. Using this connection to my home theatre reciever, do I set this to dolby or dolby + pcm (to recieve non-dolby audio)? Also do I unhook my component audio cable to my ht reciever if I use the optical connection?

I have it set to dolby + pcm for my receiver which is a Harman Kardon AVR-230. You might want to check your receiver's manual to be sure but it'll probably be the same. You don't have to unhook the composite audio cable to your receiver but there really is no need to leave it hooked up once you have the optical hooked into it.

You need to set it to both in order to get audio for all channels.

Channels like HBO and SHO are DD, almost all the rest are PCM.

Hook it up and play with the setting on different channels - you'll see. ;)

Dish and UPN
