508 firmware - NBR ?

I normally hate being a guinea pig or a beta tester for Dish.
So, I lock out any firmware updates 'till they are forced upon me.

A friend mentioned he took a recent download, and something was seriously different about the menus.
Sounded like maybe he's got NBR or something.
I didn't check his 508 to see when I was last there, and thought I'd search this forum to find out what I was missing.

I've now looked through 10+ pages of the most recent posts, I've searched on a number of variations of "508, NBR, firmware, etc" and not come across anything relevant in the last 30 days.

Since I'm sure this has been discussed, would someone just point me to the appropriate thread and delete this post? -

Thanks, apparently I didn't go back far enough in time.
I thought the offer to update my firmware was more recent, as in a few weeks.
