501/508/510 - Version 366

I got it last week. Went straight from 363.
My only timer is a manually created M-F to recording the morning news.

It missed the timer the morning the software arrived. Then, missed it again this morning. The timer seems to be more reliable if the 510 is left on (not in stand-by).

This is the same problem I was having before 366, so from my point of view I've gained nothing.

David, some folks have had good luck with performing a hard reset. This can be accomplished by holding down the power button for 5 - 10 seconds, or removing the power receptical from the wall for the same amount of time. Others have reported that removing and then replacing the receiver's card with power- on has produced the results needed.

Hope this works for you.

I've got to recheck the version. Could have sworn it said 366. Isn't the 622 also at 366 and doesn't dish NOT reuse version numbers?

Tech Portal is listing 3.66 and 3.67 as current. Boy they really flew through the versions getting this puppy out.

rickc: I did a power plug reboot the first time the timer was missed. What I haven't tried is deleting and recreating the timer. But this diesn't much sence since if fires 90% of the time.

Correction: Reboot by holding power button is termed a 'soft reset', pulling power cord is a 'hard reset'.

Where do those "new" eBay receivers come from?
