At first I had Panasonic DX900 & UB900 with Onkyo TX-NR1030 using duel HDMI as the Onkyo only has limited 4K. For the longest time the UB900 was showing my tv as 8 bit which is wrong as I know it is a 10 bit panel. Last Friday I buy a Yamaha RX-A2060 and run all through the AVR and the Yamaha clearly says for full 4K switch it to Mode 1 from the default Mode 2, so I did and with both tv & AVR in Mode 1 it was still showing up as 8 bit. As a last resort(which should have been the first resort) I pulled out the manual for the tv and it says to have the tv in Mode 2 for full 4K. After I switched it no more 8 bit. Now that's backwards from what Yamaha says, so I have the AVR in Mode 1 and the tv in Mode 2. I wonder why they are backwards of each other?
