4K Joey UI problem?

Hmmm, has anybody tried adjusting the picture format on their 4K Joey using the Format button? I have a old recording of the Boeing 787 and instead of 16:9 it's squished 4:3. I thought I'd try the Format but it had zero effect.

Has anyone else seen this?

HOME button twice > Settings > TV > Aspect Ratio > 16:9

That sets the TV's aspect ration to 16:9, which doesn't adjust for a letterboxed program or distorted image.

I too have had it do the same thing to me. Changing the aspect ratio has zero effect. Even some of the old TV shows (even if in HD) are letterbox on the 4K Joey.

Oh you're just talking about a single recording. Yeah I've encountered the format button issue as well.

Received an update to the Joey SW. Still screwed up. Is becoming a real pain!

Does anybody think I may have a Bad 4K joey? I have to reboot every day. I have not seen anybody else post about this? thanks

If you have to reboot your 4K Joey everyday. I would be calling Dish and letting them know the issue so you can get it on record. You may have to try some troubleshooting steps with them first, but I would assume if your rebooting everyday to fix an issue, they would send you replacement unit.

I had (3) 4K Joey's installed on 2/1 and I have never rebooted any of them. The only issue I have with them is they stop 10 minutes or so further into the program then they should.

Update. I called Dish to explained my problem. D.I.R.T. had already submitted my issue. I believe. Not sure where that goes exactly. I explained my issue and said that I believe it may be a bad 4K joey as I have not found this to be a wide spread problem. Meaning having to reboot everyday to correct. This is weird because this site has a lot of users and I have not seen or read much. One response with a similar issue. I got transferred around ended up with a "Specialist". Was told this is a Hopper issue not a 4k Joey issue? I did not want to fight with her but I have to disagree. I did state that, but got no where. She said the Joey is just a slave and can not be the problem. I think that is possible but again. I disagree. Just venting!!

Prior to now My problems with the 4k Joey have been there before 02-06-2016. I would say the day it was released. After many updates and attempts to reboot here we are. I am on SW U456 BS1410. My problem has moved from a reboot because it showed the picture listed in previous posts. Now I reboot every day because the Hopper does not see the Joey. Nor does my TV. Once I reboot all works for 24 hours than the same thing happens. Hopper 3 has SW 308, BS 1010. Well after about 3 months give or take would be nice if Dish got there S@@t together. Have a great day!
