4K Events Discussion Thread

I still find it crazy that the 4K Joey can’t be used for watching these programs. Why not just convert the signal to 4K SDR and transmit on another channel. Even my video processor can do this. Dish needs to fix this ASAP. Either provide a new 4K Joey HDR model or broadcast the conversion on another channel. SJ

Okay, but there is an odd number of teams in each league now. So, which team should switch leagues, to allow the elimination of daily inter-league games? Or which cities should get expansion teams?
I don't even understand the question. Why should there be an equal number of teams? Just play within your league and if you finish on top, play the winner of the other league. Worked fine for over a hundred years.

Right, but if there is an odd number of teams in your league, one team would be left out every day, without inter-league play. There was always an even number of teams in each league until recently, when the Houston Astros moved from the NL Central (which previously had six teams) to the AL West (which previously had four teams) giving each league three divisions of five teams each, or 15 teams total in each league.

So, when is Dish going to actually USE this 4K channel? Or are they that starved for bandwidth? Noticed a few 4K programs (even free ones) in the On Demand, but I’d love to have a few more...

yes totally agree time for dish to start adding content to the 4k channel and could start adding 4k channels from SES like 4kuniverse etc

I was surprised we didn't get the baseball game last weekend. It was one of the three 4K games FOX announced at the beginning of the MLB season. Strangely, Dish aired the first two 4K games, but not the third.

Noticed something today.

Although my 4K Joey can’t see channel 540-02, it can see the programs I recorded and plays them back in HDR!

It also sees and plays the 4K content on VOD.

I have watched the 4k available on EPIX On Demand(380) using my H3 and Joey 4k on a LG OLED 55" and a Vizeo 4K 58". I cannot see the difference with the HD signal upconverted. I did see a difference with the World Cup . It must be the HDR that made the difference in Picture Quality.

If they had it in 4K it would be $7. Just the way it is...

That may have been ok.
I got it, watched it again (saw it in theater) but was rather disappointed cause the rental wasn't available a full day..seems its a calender day and not 24hours from the purchase.
Don't think I'll be buying any more because of that.
