4K Events Discussion Thread

Is dish airing "the masked singer " in 4k?

Asking as DirecTV is NOT broadcast that event and the 4K feed on D* ended at 1040 EST

Watched the 540 super bowl on my Samsung and found the colors to be very good, not washed out like previous events. I wonder what they did different. I started at pregame looking at Fox app on Fire tv 4K, didn’t look good. Went to Fox app on Roku Premiere and it looked very good, but as game approached began interrupting ( from server problems I presume), so I went back to Dish and I was very pleased.

I have a 2015 Model 6400 65 inch Samsung non-HDR 4K HDTV and I thought the picture on 540-1 was very good. We sit about 12 feet away from the TV so I'm not sure 1080i vs 4K could be discernable, but the picture was excellent.

I happened to try 540-01 on my TV (not 4K, just 1080p) and I was happy to see it worked. Ended up DVRing the game on there because the bitrate was so much better than OTA or satellite local. Hardly any artifacts. Looked great! Guess I'll be using 540-01 all the time going forward, when applicable

The video from the Westminster Dog Show on 540-01 is excellent. Very clear and sharp picture.

I have the Picture Adjustment on my Sony TV set to Vivid instead of Standard and the colors are now the same as channel 150.

Setting the picture to Vivid color may be a bandaid but it works. Until Dish is able to fix the color problem I will do what I need to do to get the best picture possible. And setting the picture to vivid only affects the Dish 4K channel 540-01. The normal Dish 1080i channels don’t use that setting.
