No time or physical motion is wasted dealing with mere keyboards, his posts come directly from his brain, via his Sadoun hat-to-Satguys forum virtual interface. ;)

I asked him that one time myself when I found him on another board! He is a Moderator over on the Sadoun forums too and the Good Lord knows where else!

He replied by saying something like, "I always time for me to watch TV".

Now, either he is an alien from another planet, some kind of "Shape Shifter" or he has a TV and receiver right above his PC monitor performing miracles in a short bit of time.

A lesser man than he can't do the things Tony does! :D

Found the PM I sent to Ice last year about time to watch TV:

FTABman0: Last Question, Being top Satellite Guys poster and the help you put into the site, when do you find time for actually sitting down and watching TV?
Iceberg: I have plenty of time to watch TV...unless I'm tweaking a dish or two :)

In all honesty, considering today's economic environment a book on free TV could do great!

Thanks guys. Honestly I don't look at post numbers and until I saw a thread where dfergie had passed 30K posts did I look at mine and noticed I had just surpassed 40K.

I just like to help folks out with their system. When I first started with FTA late 03 I didnt know much about it. I originally got a receiver to "save a few bucks" on my ExpressVu system by getting the radio stations that (at the time) were in the clear...I guess I really didnt saved much money there ;) I learned alot of it by reading and trying things out. I figured the worse thing that can hapen is I blow a switch or trip a fuse...maybe fry a reciever ;) but if we can show the group something that we accomplished, then its all worth it.

As I've noted a few times, the FTA area we are all kinda like "family"....maybe a dysfunctional one :D but a family. Other areas here when someone gets Dish Network or Directv there a few posts that say "welcome aboard" but then some posts turn it into a pissing match.

Here we are different. When someone finds a "new" dish (previously enjoyed) we all congratulate them on the find. When someone cuts the cable or Dish/Direct and goes FTA/OTA only we all offer congrats. When someone tries something new or to push the envelope with their system, a fair amount of us wait to see the next post wondering if it works or not.

That is how we all LEARN...by watching other folks try it and show that some crazy idea may work.

And that in my mind makes it all worth while :)

I have plenty of time :) I do have a FTA receiver in the computer room

nope. Have a setup behind me in the corner. But alot of times it sits on Retro Jams or a network feed while I post

He need to write a book on FTA hobby, with all the knowledge he has. I mentioned that to him thousands of posts ago...
I dont see me writing a book...thats just not me. Now reading a book thats different.

Another question that was asked (just recently) is why I don't get in the sat install business. Well thats easy
1. I am afraid of heights (crazy but true.....my roof I can get on because its one level up)
2. If I do an install of my own and I screw up, the only person I have pointing fingers/hollering at is me ;)
3. I have done sat installs for a few folks her on the board and for other folks. Most are really good but I've had a couple post nasty messages on a board about an install I did saying it wasn't right etc when the problem was their ineptitude. True story I reaimed a dish for a North Dakota fan (the hockey games are on KU satellite...its posted numerous sites so its not really secret) and it worked great when I left. Had everything all setup and all he had to do was scan the transponder I inputted 15 minutes before 1st game. Well the person changed the info and then blamed me when it didnt scan in
4. I don't see me doing that as a career...a hobby maybe ;)

I have wanted him to write a book as well. He could make some good money. I have mentioned this to him a few times.

But to his credit hes not in it for the money or the fame, he just loves satellite.

That mean we FTAers get FREE and valuable advice from a expert!
Alot of us owe you our thanks, Iceberg! Keep up the great work!
