This was a spur of the moment idea as I had to go on the roof to get some tools I left up there. I swapped the Ku LNB and holder for a BSC-621-2D LNB and Conical scalar.

First off the dish isnt aimed properly. Last week I set USALS to 0, added my Long.Lat then moved to 72W. Once I got a signal on 72W I left it until today (USALS and S10 were never accurate). Discq was always needed to "properly and manually" aim to each sat in my experience. Remember I literally just put in the LNB w/ scalar without adjusting it.

Location: Northern VT
Weather: Overcast, 45d or so, no wind
Receiver: S10
DISH: Geo Sat
LNB: BSC 621-2D
Skew: Unknown
Cable: 75ft RCA RG-6 from 1998 (remember those DirecTV install kits?)

Results

I 21 (58w) Trans 3924v @ 55% --> 3 Asian chanels
AMC 6 (72w) Trans 3780H @ 60% --> Looked like a feed
G16 (99W) Trans 4000h @ 55% ---< Lesea
Trans 3845 @ 60% --> CW, ABC HD and 11 more channels of I dont know what

Considering the dish isnt aimed properly and the LNB was never "fine tuned" I do consider this a success. Am positive once all the Sats are locked in and the LNB is properly tuned the results should triple. Good project for next weekend.

Cheers, K

Props to Northgeorgia who inspired me to try this again.

Ironically I picked up 3 of them this past summer from a Radio Shack Dealer......for 97 cents a piece!!!

Awesome deal. the grounding block alone is worth more. Needless to say that kit has served me very well over the years.

Cheers, K
