322 senseitivity

I just switched from a reliable low cost dish box to a 322 and I am not very happy. This box searches for a signal all the time. I can go to point dish and change a few settings and get a good signal strength but when I click done it goes back to the same old settings. How can I make changes and get them to stick? My old system did not have the same problem and the only thing done was to add the 322. This receiver is not user friendly. I am having the hardest time getting my tivo to work with this receiver.

there is no way to change settings and make it "lock". When you had the 322 put in did you run a second line from the dish or use the DPP seperator that came with the 322? If you used the seperator do you have a DPP LNB on the dish? and finally what's your signal strength on transponders 11 and 12, sats 119 and 110?

Yes the seperator was used. I have one line coming from dish to attic main connect to house cable. Signal strength normally is around 110 but when I have signal problems it drops into the 40 to 60 range. I can change the setting to the 110 sat and change the other setting from 13 to 10 and I get a good signal but the change will not stick. Why would I have problems when only the receiver was changed out?

When you are in the point dish screen, you arent "changing" any setting. You are selecting a satellite/transponder and viewing the signal strength for that transponder. A single transponder only carries a maximum of 14 channels, which is why there are so many listed. If you are getting low (40-60) on any transponder on the 110/119 satellites, there is a problem, probably with the cable.

322 is very stable rec. 322 tuning meter = piece of crap.

Unh. That's too broad of an answer. Remember - spotbeams - very few people (if any) live in an area where they're going to see EVERY transponder on the menu.

first of all

First of all I would like to say thank you for helping. I am new at this as I am sure you can tell. I have more info now that may help. I have a legacy pro twin 150782 and one house cable hooked up to the 119 side with no splitter at the twin. It comes into the whole house coax through the attic and hooks to the dish 322 with a splitter right before the 322 box, the splitter allows hookup to sat one and two. I also have a tivo hookup with an IR blaster. At this time it is the only receiver I have hooked up. Should I purchase a splitter for the legacy twin hookup or run a another cable to the box from the twin? Any other ideas?

Yes, you must run another cable from the 110 side to the 322. Do not use the splitter.

The other solution would be to change twin to a Dish Pro Plus twin, which works with the separator.

Would the seperator be used at the twin hookup area or at the 322 box hookup area? I plan on buying a dpp twin so I can use my single cable.

When you switch to the DPP twin. It's a straight swap. The sep. gets hooked up at the 322 just like you had it. Sep. outs 1/2 must go to inputs1/2 respectively. It makes a dif.

While your waiting connect your single cable direct to input two and watch tv.

That's a contradiction in terms. You have either Legacy or DishPro. The 150782 number tells me it's DishPro. The big "DP" logo on the back should also be a dead giveaway.

It is a dish pro not a dish pro plus. I won a dish pro plus on ebay and will change out next week.
