31"motorize system

I have a 31" motorized system with a universal dual LNBF and pansat 2500 fta receiver,I live in The Bahamas in the 48 degree zone according to your foot print. I want to know if can use my exsiting system as a tester or do I need to purchase a receiver from glorystar. I want to purchase a glorystar system for my mom, but I want to ensure I can receive the signal before I lay out the cash.
