Shouldn't the base price of a 31" dish be anywhere from $60 to $80 max? The local dealer (Swap Shop) in Lauderdale jacked up their prices on some no-name generic 31" dishes.

They once sold Fortecs for $65 per dish. Now they have these plain grey or plain black dishes selling for $95. (Not channel master or Winegaurd). Give me a break. Is that a little out of control? I can understand paying $95 for a 100cm, but not a 31".

EDIT: Just curious what you all thought....considering a no-name brand dish is involved.

locals gone crazy

I'm lucky enough to have found a local store who wants about $1 per centimeter.
I might drive over to avoid the shipping cost if I were hard up or in a big hurry.
Otherwise, I'd buy from SatelliteAV or Sadoun, two of our sponsors, as I have in the past.

I know about the great deals here. I forgot to ask opinions. Sorry about that. I apologize for the bitchfest. Was just curious what you all thought about the whole $95 thing.

Hi,

Yes, that sounds like a high price to me also. However, if this dealer is in a remote area, the only one in town, and deals in small quantities, then he may have a reason for this high price.

Some dealers buy small quantity of dishes at a time. That of course jacks up their cost due to the shipping costs. IF a dealer buys in quantity (for example we ship some dealers 120 dishes at a time), it will make their total cost lower. Then they can afford to sell it at a reasonable price.
