3/18/2015 13:51 - Uplink Report - 156 Changes

Hopefully the other channels are the extra innings channels that I posted a few week ago as a rumour.

A dish retailer sent me this from the Commercial Services Department. Let's hope it's true and not an April Fools joke.

I posted this in the Sports section and the Pub, but it looks like MLB is llosening up according to this article in the NY Post: http://nypost.com/2015/03/19/mlb-fans-will-finally-have-access-to-stream-home-games/

Edit: Oops, posted in Rumor Alert thread, not PUB. Father time is taking the mind...

I wish it was Weather Nation, but if in fact it's World Harvest Television, I'm not all that surprised. Apparently LeSEA (owners of FETV, WHT, and about eight local independent OTA stations) cut some kind of a deal (maybe a year ago now?) with various providers (satellite and IPTV, I think. No cable.) - that they would get two channels launched nationwide. One was to be a general family entertainment channel (FETV) and the other religious (WHT). I'm really not sure how the economics work. I assume that LeSEA is paying for carriage for at least one of the two. It's possible that the religious WHT is considered a "public interest" channel on satellite. Since I already have a LeSEA local OTA station, WHT seems to merely rerun the ministry & fundraising programs (It's hard to tell the two apart) that are already on my local LeSEA channel. Not sure why anyone would get that excited about it as a national network. FETV was getting off to a slow start until they signed the COZI TV deal. I wonder if now that WHT is launching, more of the ministry / fundraising / religious infomercial stuff can move to WHT and allow FETV to pick up more hours of COZI?

Hey, for the record, I would much rather have WeatherNation, even though I already have it on Roku, because it's a much better weather channel than TWC. And, I already get WHT on an OTA digital subchannel, too. So, I hope we do get WeatherNation.

I dont think we will get it until at least April 1st.

JHR1985 Wednesday is Uplink Day where the big uplink changes are made. Changes normally happen between 3 and 5 PM Eastern Time.

Uplink changes are automatically posted here thanks to qwert1515

Did not know that about Wednesdays, Thanks! I wasn't expecting WN until next week, you would think DISH would have to keep ALJAM on 215 until April 1st. Can't wait for WN! I just hope we don't lose TWC because of it.
