This is totally confusing now. No one has any idea now which channels will be added to what packages. TurboHD doesn't get Fox News HD, but Absolute gets BET Jazz. Now it is just all screwy!

Looks like Pirate tv is back... Last time that was up, there was a smart card swap going on and only the pirates could see that channel.

Yep... that's exactly it. To my surprise that channel is not encrypted. Any legal FTA receiver can watch it. I checked it out on 110 and it's just some guy talking about how they a securing their signal and lists the channel types that will be impacted in "Early 2009". But I guess it should be put up there as not encrypted.

And to others wondering on the Lafayette, LA locals they have 3 out of 3 since there isn't an NBC station in their DMA. Wonderful DMA rules.... at least WVLA out of Baton Rouge has a 1000kw HD OTA signal you can pick up pretty easily in Lafayette.

Amazing, isn't it? I don't remember the time when this actually happened in the last few years.

Sure it has. Most of the time they don't say anything until AFTER. But they have pre-announced things on several occasions.

The most memorable was when Discovery, TLC, History, et. al., went live a couple of summers ago. They announced dates for those more than a month in advance, as I recall.

I think the same thing happened with some regional sports networks, as well. But I am getting old and I could be wrong.

Just confirmed with my mother in Ville Platte they are up and running. They looking great...
Too bad they cannot provide guide data for KALB and KPLC. Those are the 2 NBCs easily available in Evangeline Parish. Since Lafayette is on the bird now, maybe I will try re-pointing to BR on my next visit. WVLA may be a stretch from there...
