My dad wants to watch his recordings from his 722 on the road in his RV. He does not want to take 722 with him, or use sling. My thought was transfer recordings to an external hard drive and watch them on a 211k. The question is, the 211k will not be hooked up to a dish while on the road, does anyone know if the 211k can access the hard drive without being hooked to a sat dish? The 211k will be hooked up in his house when he is not on the road to keep up to date.

In the same "class" of receiver. The ViP211 series is not a DVR. It can utilize an EHD but it's not set up the same as true DVR EHDs. A ViP722 series can interchange with the Hopper series and the ViP922 and the ViP622. Sorry, but the ViP211 series is a different animal. And the ViP222 is even further "out" as it cannot AND NEVER WILL work with any EHD.

The 211 is the only one that is different. To my knowledge all others can share EHD content.

Well... It's not the only one that is different in this way. For completeness, in addition to the 211, there is also the 411, the 211k, and the 211z which take the DVR conversion disk.

Local channels saying off air after 11:00pm

Can logos be changed to lists in the My Recordings.
