2009 NBA Playoffs

HD, don't feel bad. if there was one game i thought they might lose it was this one due to the amount of days off. remember the 1st game against the hawks they weren't that sharp for the same reason. the cavs will be fine but it wont be easy as we already discussed before the game.cavs will win game 2

Somehow, Some Way Life Goes On.....

The day after a loss is always the toughest. Especially in a game of such magnitude. Like my psyche as a Cleveland sports fan, last night was an emotional roller-coaster.

I still haven't been able to turn on talk radio, open the newspaper or read anything on any other sports sites. You don't even know how many times I replayed every single possession from last night to figure out a way things could've ended differently. The "what-if's" following a 1 point loss are endless!

With that said, it's a 7 game series. I'm choosing to stay positive on this one. I'm confident LeBron won't let this loss get the team down. There's 3 games a piece left at each opponents court. Home-court advantage is out the window. It's time to buckle down. We need to play better defense. Letting an opponent score 100+ points is not our game. Letting LeBron dribble, dribble, shoot, while the rest of the team stands around is not our game either. I'm confident we'll correct those issues.

I'm off for the rest of the day on an emotional healing: 18 holes at the links, followed by a steak dinner. Life is tough. ;) :D

Talk to yall later.

TGIF THURSDAY!!!! HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!!!

A few thoughts on last nights game and how the rest of the series will go:

- For those of you that have not seen Orlando Magic play....THAT is there game!
Not too many drives to the basket and ALOT of 3-points baskets. ALOT! They
were 2nd in the NBA in attempts, made and 3-pt percentage. This series will
be determined by wills....does the Cavs have the WILL to play ALOT of peri-
meter defense and does the Magic have the WILL to STICK TO THEIR GAME
IF/WHEN the Cavs defense starts putting the screws to them.

- They had a VERY interesting stat about the game last night in regards to their
the two main stars of the game. 1st half, Lebron was about 35% of the total
offense....meaning he involved his team which added to the big lead. On the
other hand, Dwight Howard was 58% of the offense and didn't involve too
much of the other team....SECOND half, rolls REVERSED. Lebron, 68% of the
offense, Dwight Howard....22%...which equalled an Orlando win.

- Unless they start using a QUICKER man in the middle, in other words, give Ben
Wallace more playing time....they could be in trouble. Dwight Howard is too fast
for Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

- YES it is just the 1st game, but you CLEARLY saw the match-up problems the
Cavs have.

But there is NO DOUBT this is gonna be a fun series. REGARDLESS of who wins and how much the margin of victory....this more than likely will go 7.

OK, so this won't be a Cav's sweep. The only thing lost here was home court advantage. Matt, now would be a time to become a believer in Salsa was trying to tell you earlier this year. True champions don't need the home court advantage. Case in point - until the series with the Anaheim Ducks, the Red Wings clinched the previous 8 series on the opponents ice. I still believe your Cavaliers will win this series. They'll make the adjustments on defense for that 4th quarter onslaught the Magic rained on you guys. Maybe just a little rust had set in. You guys waited quite a while for this series. A loss now may have actually benefited your team. it's been a long time since you lost at home, and it was bound to happen. Now they got it out of their system.

How many times the Bulls won EITHER a Eastern Conference championship or a NBA championship on the opponents home floor....? I have NEVER, EVER denied that home court is NOT a real nice thing to have....but, you have never needed it to win when your good. HELL, the Cavs haved proved my point TWICE already clinching IN Detroit and IN Atlanta.

Matt, hide all the sharp knives, guns and spare rope. Just in case the Cav's lose again.;)

I'm curious to hear what you shoot at the golf course. I can't play for crap when I got things on my mind. Scratch that - I can play golf like crap anytime.

I agree that last night's loss by Cleveland is no big deal. It was their first playoff loss and was by 1 point. Now the Cavs need to make some adjustments. Lebron was left to fend for himself because his teammates did nothing and they played little defense, kind of like the way the Cavs used to play. But they were up 16 before Orlando came back, so I'm confident the Cavs will improve. Last night was all about the Magic sending a message and stealing a game on the road. I think Game 2 will likely be a Cleveand rout. After Orlando beat Boston in Game 1 they let the Celtics destroy them in Game 2. No way they match the intensity Cleveland brings in the next one. What happens in Orlando will be interesting. The Magic will expect to win at home.

Also the nuggets, they played againt la in their home court...I see this going 7 games in favor of Denver.

I agree with most of the posts. Every team that aims for a title, has some bumps in the road. no 16-0 for the Cavs. They should be ok.

Though intresting comment last night from the Magic locker room, I guess at halftime, Vangundy told the team we all must be witnesses right now, refering to watching number 23, some of the players said that was a bit of a wake up call.
