2 Tb SSD on Hopper 3

Can a 2 TB SSD drive be used on the Hopper 3. I've tried 2 drives on my Hopper 3 and have had problems. Both when I plugged it in, USB 2 port on front, it has completed the format fine.
When I tried to transfer file over from the Hopper, I get a dialog box stating files transfer successful with errors. When I look at the contents no files are on the drive.

Now the drives have a GPT vs. a MBR.

Nope, the H3 doesn't support the TRIM command. Without TRIM, the SSD doesn't know whether blocks are allocated, so it will fill and die.
