yesterday i went over to my brother new apartment for the Super bowl and he just got dvr with On-Demand. 1, in the tvguide is there anyway remove the ads showing you what On-Demand? 2, how long does it take normally to download VOD? he was downloading "Shameless" to just try out and its took 6hr. or is DSL much slower. even know his box isnt hook up to his Router

I dont think there is any way to remove the ads.
As to the speed of when you click and when you can watch, it varies, but I have a 6 mbps DSL connection, and even on HD, after a few seconds (half a minute maybe) I can generally watch with no issue.
Probably what your brother did was completely download the movie first. You can start downloading it and then go to your playlist and start it as soon as it buffers enough to let you. Try that and see how it works.
