Nice, I'm between the green and yellow lines for the Atlanta spotbeam so maybe I could "move" there if I want. Looks like it's time to connect 129 again and check some signal strengths.
We're loosly speaking as though transponder 17 frequencies were the transponder itself. This is not strictly speaking accurate. For spotbeam transponders, there are actually separate physical transponders for each spot, even though the frequencies they use (and reuse over and over) are the same.20 HD Channels on TP17 am I understanding this correctly? I thought the max you could get on one TP was 7-8 HD channels.

TP 17 has 8 channels, the rest are mirrors like Digi said.
Edit: Added TMP57, thanks JohnH
So if all 16 ConUS TP's were HD then we'd be looking at (16x8) 128 HD channel capacity?
I think its 16x7.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
"Moved" to Atlanta more than a year ago... now the big 4 are gone! Now all I get is the attached image. Anyone got a quicklink to a site where it can show my location with possible spotbeamed HD locals? I've seen some pics with a google maps/earth image with little drawn circles showing spotbeams, but I can't find the threads now... Anyone got a clue as to what I am talking about? Or am I completely mistaken? Zip is 26347. Thx.
And once again.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!:river:river
The SD channels are on the same spotbeam.I am looking at a possible "move" from Erie PA, to Columbus Oh..If I see 129W TP 04 that means that I will be able to get the locals from columbus?

No I haven't tried Pitt yet because I wasn't sure how to find out what they have and which spotbeam it is on.Have you tried Pittsburgh?
The only locals that have been spotbeamed are in this report. So not many have fired up yet. You are just going to have to wait this one out and see what fires up for your area.
36861 - EPG [EPG] moved from Ciel-2 129W TP 17 ConUS beam to Ciel-2 129W TP 21 ConUS beam
sorry if this is a lil off topic but does this mean transponder 21 on ciel 2 is the home transponder? meaning best transponder to tweak signal with?
