Nice, I'm between the green and yellow lines for the Atlanta spotbeam so maybe I could "move" there if I want. Looks like it's time to connect 129 again and check some signal strengths.

We're loosly speaking as though transponder 17 frequencies were the transponder itself. This is not strictly speaking accurate. For spotbeam transponders, there are actually separate physical transponders for each spot, even though the frequencies they use (and reuse over and over) are the same.
I think you should be ok. I was able to lock...barely enough... to read the channel numbers with TSReader on the Atlanta, GA spotbeam. And that's with a Dish300 pointed at 129. The power might be high right now since they don't have the other spots turned on too. Time will only tell.
I'll work on matching some more of the spotbeams to the 129 locals. But it is purely guess work at this point.
No...He's counting the mirrors too. There are not that many HD channels on that one transponder.

Dang Ive been in Oklahoma City the last week alot has happened. Ive been on here some when I could pick up a wireless connection where I was. Ya go away for a week and everything changes lol.

"Moved" to Atlanta more than a year ago... now the big 4 are gone! Now all I get is the attached image. Anyone got a quicklink to a site where it can show my location with possible spotbeamed HD locals? I've seen some pics with a google maps/earth image with little drawn circles showing spotbeams, but I can't find the threads now... Anyone got a clue as to what I am talking about? Or am I completely mistaken? Zip is 26347. Thx.

Just to point out it is more than 7. When the new CI HD launched, it made the content in excess of 7 HDs on the Tps where it went. Some will claim that number 8 is a limited bandwidth thingy and in some cases that would be correct at least for now.

On Tps where the TMPxx channels are, the TMPxx makes number 8 and they have reportedly tested some of those with video.
The only locals that have been spotbeamed are in this report. So not many have fired up yet. You are just going to have to wait this one out and see what fires up for your area.
No I haven't tried Pitt yet because I wasn't sure how to find out what they have and which spotbeam it is on.
Any clue when all of them will spotbeamed?

Some would call it the "Home" transponder. That means, it likely will be there when others may come and go. That may make it the best for tweaking, not because it has the best signal for tweeking. Others may prefer an 8PSK HD transponder.
