Hi All,
Tonight was the first snow of the year, and the first snow ever for my 18" SuperJack.

Tonight, my channels started acting funny, and when I went to adjust channels (dsr922), I found that my actuator is constantly reading "physical limit of dish has been reached" in all directions.

My dish is currently stuck on C3 and screams about dish limits if I try to move it. My current limits are programmed at their original East/West points, FAR from the dish's current location.

Did my actuator get wet in the snow and die?
Anyone know any tricks to save it?

By the way, no snow has landed on the dish. Just a little wet slush on the top of the LNB cover and on top of ...gulp...the actuator motor cover.

Thats odd, you can look at the wires, and if you have a cheap getto arm then it is possible it is dead, I have had only two arms in 20 years and here in Canada we get hard winters.

Well, I solved it. After taking the actuator down and hooking it up in the living room....I discovered the loose red wire ON THE RECEIVER.

Immediately after finding it my wife said...oh, I was cleaning back there, was that the problem?

So now I'm reprogramming my world, will be back to 100% in a couple days. Thanks for the help!

We were hosting thanksgiving, and our receiver sits atop the tv cabinet.

If any of you experts can help, I have a New problem:
Now I only get HORIZONTAL polarity C/KU signals. This problem exists on all sats. Any Vertical channels (which is all the good ones) are black. What did I wire incorrectly?

UPDATE: I've been reading around and it looks like when you can only see Horizontal channels, your servo isn't working. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see if any bugs are in the feedhorn. Seems hard to belive a corotorII servo would die after 6 months.
Maybe in the week or so the dish hasn't moved, some bugs moved in.

Thanks again

Check the servo wires at the receiver , even if they look ok , one of the little tires may be broken inside the insulation . Re-terminate .

Cpmmonly red -> + DC , black -> ground , white -> pulse _i-i_ .

You are correct! I fixed it a few minutes ago. Now I'm back... almost :(

No sound (but solid picture) on W7 (networks) G5 (cnn) and W3 (more networks). I've never trusted my alignment and declination much. I expect I'm not tracking the arc well. I think I'm gonna break down and hire somebody to make it perfect.

Thanks again for all your help!
