180 inversion

Just wondering,
Last summer I briefly and halfheartedly messed around with the idea of mounting a BSC621 to my 1.2M P* dish. When I did, I saw that because the LNB points upward, it would collect water when it rained, so I wondered if any of you have had any luck with rotating the dish 180 so that the LNB support arm points downward. If you have, did it work, and how did it affect your elevation settings? I won't try it again until some time in May because I'm up to my neck in snow now, but was just wondering if it would work.

The idea will work fine.
Usually, you see guys invert their dish to get satellites which are very low on the horizon.
It's generally difficult to aim below around 20° with many dishes.
So, inverting them lets the reflector be tipped back a little, when still aiming down at the horizon.
As you say, that'll keep the water out of your C-band LNB.

Couple of the members have popularized the idea.
I've saved their pix, but instead of posting those, it would be more polite if I can find the original thread .
