Good Morning, I'm new to Sat Guys and was introduced to it by Dish Tech. My system/service has been problem prone since installation, by Dish contractors, in June. The latest problem is trying to watch the US Open on Universal HD. This station will operate properly for a short time frame (5 minutes) and then lose satelite signal. 30 seconds later the station will operate properly for another 5 minutes and then lose satelite. This cycle will repeat endlessly. If I switch to USA Network (non-HD), which is also broadcasting the US Open there is no problem. I haven't noticed this problem with other HD channels. Dish has replaced the receiver but the problem continues. This may be the straw that broke the camels back. Any suggestions before I terminate service and go back to my cable service?

What is your signal strength on that sat/tp?

Hit menu 6 >> 1 >> 1 on the remote while on that channel to get the reading.

Welcome,

First what kind of Dish do you have? (Does it say Dish 500 on the front, Dish 1000 on the front of do you have two dishes?

Second what area are you in? (We don't need to know exactly where you live, just general location)

Third are you in the flight path of an airport? (don't laugh I have seen this happen twice!)

Where are you? Let me guess - Pacific Northwest? If so, the best solution for you that will keep you with Dish Network is a separate, larger dish for the 129 satellite.

2nd larger dish was part of original installation.

How large is your 2nd dish? I'm located in the Cascade foothills East of Salem and using a 30" Winegard. I've had zero dropouts on 129 since I installed it in April.

How good is the 1000.2?
