I have a 1080p/60 monitor (71" Sammy DLP). VOD does not work at 1080p.

I have 622. Is this because it is trying to do 1080p/24 and my TV wont do 24 only 60?

Any other ideas on how to make it work?

I thought the 24 was 24 frames per second??

So what does the 120hz have to do with it? I'm confused I guess.

I'm confused by all of this as well. I have 2 tvs, a 1080p Sharp Aquos D62U and a 1080p Samsung A550, both have a refresh rate of 60hz, but the VOD doesn't work on the Sharp but does on the Samsung. I do know that the Sharp will handle a 1080p input, as I have an upconverting DVD player hooked up to it and have had a PS3 hooked up to it as well, so I'm not sure why the VOD won't work on it.

well i read the other thread and the fact that VOD doesnt work on 1080p60 sets is in a word ... lame.

spend almost $5K on a set and the silly dish software barfs

More than likely.

And unless you have 120hz TV, the 24p does you no good. 1080i will look just as good on your TV.

What is this statement based on? I guess I dont understand the details of the 1080i vs 1080p vs 1080p24 vs 1080p60.

I know that my Samsung is 1080p60 and will accept a native 1080p signal.

Actually most of the 120Hz TV's can't do a 5:5 cadence. Most of them do 3:2 then double it. The ones that really wow you are the ones that do 72 and 96.

Anyhoo, there are tons of threads on this. The bottom line is that very few displays work with Dish's 1080p24--even most that should.
