I've been recovering from the alignment issues caused by frequent high winds buffeting my 10-foot Winegard Pinnacle Perf.
Got the whole arc working again from 55.5 to 139 West, but seeing strange reception situation where 103 West used to be.
93 97 99 101 and 105 West are all working right now, but when splitting the difference in the motor drive count between
101 and 105 results in no signals at all. 103 was there yesterday, and now I'm getting zero signal and zero quality on all
previously scanned transponders that had been working. A blind scan yields nothing, but it's so odd that adjacent satellites
are working. Adding to the mix is a Pansat sourced C-band LNBF that occasionally drops out for a few minutes at a type,
with no response at all. Since everything except 103 is working, I am wondering if they decommissioned any spacecraft
at that orbital slot and if so--could be having issues getting a replacement turned on. There has been a shroud of mystery
with the temporary start of an Ion Media Networks TP on 135 West at 4140-h that was put up as a backup during recent
solar outages, but it's now gone, and I don't see any carrier for same on 103 West at 4040-h.
Getting ready to pop another LNBF in place as soon as tomorrow's rain has passed, but don't know if I actually have an
intermittent LNBF or maybe even 5G signals getting turned on a mile away without warning, and occasionally wiping out
my reception. It's embarrassing, despite using good test equipment to rule every possibility out.
Could anyone out there check reception of anything on SES-18 / 103 West and see if it's just me? Thank you in advance.
Mike
