I removed a 24" Insignia TV from my RV, due to poor viewing angles from below. The TV was mounted on a sliding mount, quite sturdy, but it had no way of pivoting up and down. So I gave it to my in-laws, and mounted it for them on a wall using a mount that pivots in every direction.
I've bought (unopened, can be returned) a 32" Sharp that was on a great sale at Costco. It has superb viewing angles, even from below. It will fit in the area the old TV fit. The old TV weighed 20-25 lbs, the new one, 30-35 lbs.
PROBLEM: The mount has the VESA 100mm x 100mm hole pattern, and the Sharp has 200mm x 200mm. I called the Costco help line, and the guy said "Sure, there's adapters - probably in any Radio Shack." Well, I couldn't see him, but I know his lips were moving, and we all know what that means.
I could get some sheet steel and drill 8 holes and bolt away. I'd rather get something ready made for the purpose. After some searching, I've come up with 3 possibilities:
This one is actually from RS, and weighs 7 lbs. But, as it's meant for wall mounting, I'm not sure it's strong enough to be held by 4 bolts thru the 100mm mount.
This one is just a simple flat panel, which "might" work.
And this one [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Vantage-Point-AX2WL01B-Mount-100mm/dp/B00081I788"]. [/ame] from Amazon appears sturdier, but really wasn't intended for this use, and would require particularly long bolts.
What do you guys think? I'm open to any suggestions. Think I should just get a smaller TV?
