I am curious. The impression I am getting through this thread is that some are using the w attachment to set the 1000.2 then putting on the bracket/.2 lnb to finish the process. Am I reading this correctly? I thought that the reflectors are different sizes between the 1000 and the 1000.2. Arrent the arms also diffent sizes?

I think perhaps you're misunderstanding. Not only does the D1000 have a w-bracket, but the 1000.2 also *offers* a w-bracket. Presumably for those situations where a DPP44 is needed (more than 3 receivers).

I usually will use the D1000.2 w-bracket for aiming (since it supports DP tech, and utilizes a DP dual) and then will swap it out for the DPP LNB that comes with the 1000.2

I know the "LNB IN" port on the DISH 1000 can be used for a feed from a 300 or 500
dedicated to 129 [by disconecting the pigtail from the onboard 129 LNB].
Any way to do this with a 1000.2? Thanks.

Unfortunately, no.

The 129 is integrated with the current D1000.2 LNB. So if there is another dish...D300 or D500...using the 129, it's just merely going to confuse the bejeebers out of the receivers software.

I use my dish 1000.2 for 110/119/129 and the side sat dish for 61.5 fits right into the triple lnb and I get it too. The dish 1000.2 is like the dish pro plus twin except you can get 4 sats instead of 3.

Thanks for the reply. If you were to physically block the signal to the integrated
129 LNB [tin foil?], would the receiver/switch recognize the LNB from the dedicated
dish [connected to the "4th satellite" input on the 100.2] as 129?

I did that very thing to get it to default to 61.5 and it does work. I get
110/119/ --/61.5 in my check switch . So if I can get that with the side sat dish for 61.5 then I imagine that you can do the same with a second sat dish aimed at 129. The only problem is that to keep from getting the 129 sat back in to my switch matrix , I have to refoil the lnb for 129 each time I run a check switch. The recordings are better off of 61.5 for me with no audio drop outs or reverbs like the 129 sat using the dish 1000.2.

is inadequate, I'll give this a shot. [I'm on west coast, so 61.5

That is correct,
I have a feeling that the 1000.2 dish is going to be replacing the 500 dish pro plus twin eventually.
Making it the primary dish on future installs

Super Buddy meter with Dish 1000.2

The Birdog USB ( 3.0 new version) will only work with a DishPro Plus lnbf if a receiver is connected and supplying power to the second port of the LNBF.

The only meter that will work with a DishPro Plus lnbf w/o a receiver being connected is the new Sathawk 4000 meter ( see www.sathawk.tv ). This meter has a longer charge and can handle 600mA fine.

As some other users mentioned, the Applied Instruments Super Buddy meter will power the Dish 1000.2 and handles the 600mA, too. Therefore, the SatHawk 4000 isn't the only meter that will work with a Dish Pro Plus lnbf w/o a receiver being connected. Just wanted to clarify. Many of the Dish Network techs have begun using the Super Buddy and this is one of the reasons why.

I get better readings off 119 and 110 with the new 1000.2. Signals off 129 are similar to what I was getting with a D500 and I bracket, low but not the dish's fault. So I completely agree with you.
