Pure FUD designed to stir the pot up again, when we're all trying to get along...

Well noted. I apologize and have edited my original copy.

i hate this silver components trend.. i have 2 D* receivers which both are silver in my rack... really messes with the color coordination.

Not really "All good". This wasn't posted at dbstalk, and if it had, it would NOT have been deleted. Please Correct your source.

Oh -Wait. The original message was posted on this site at 2:33pm.

BFG copied it from that thread and reposted (in the wrong forum) at 2:41pm. That has got to be embarrassing.

Umm No.

I found the post in this forum http://www.dbstalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=48

Well it seems I've solved the mystery, see below:

Not according to scottchez.

Oh really? well that's odd... Because he's also the creator of this thread: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=21566 "Top 10 Reasons NOT to buy a 921 till March 1st"

Coincidence?

And Wow! I guess I should've used the handy forum tools earlier:

bobj2004's IP Address for this post
6x.xx.xxx.xx6

Users sharing the same IP Address
ScottChez

So he posted the same article here under a different name than at DBSTalk.

But I still found the post over there and it no longer exists.

Yes, woodgrain, why didn't I think of that! I enjoy living my life in a woodgrain paneled world. :)

lol! I still have a fully functional 1970's vintage Pioneer receiver it puts out 160 wpc and weighs 75lbs! I bought it new in 1978. It's silver with real wood side panels. Use it to power my patio speakers. :D

Does anyone know if the 942 will be available to lease for folks that have upgraded within the last year. I did a "Dishin it up" deal for the 811 in Dec 04, assuming I could upgrade to the 942 once it was available, not reading the fine print in the contact. I sent an email to Charlie Chat last week, which was obviously ignored.

I mean what company wouldn't want their customers to upgrade whenever they want? Oh yeah, DISH.

Strage the above threads they are.

Why was my post closed and repasted ?

As for the source, it is text from the Kick n xxxxxx.org site that we can not talk about.
There is a lot of detailed inside info there. Most Ihve also check on.

Sorry about the confusion. I will stop posting details like this. Still wondering what happened we should just drop it, all is cool man.

To avoid confusion (and reduce possibility of legal issues), you should have added a disclaimer that you grabbed that info from another site, and therefore those aren't your words.

A couple of reasons I decided to pre-order a 942:

1) I want one. I've been DVR-less for far too long. I'll take a few bugs in exchange for greater flexibility in scheduling.

2) Charlie has said that MPEG-4 technology will be in place by late fall, not that said technology will actually be in use by then.

3) When has Echostar ever remained on schedule and met a commited date? A human colony on Mars will probably be flourishing by the time MPEG-4 programming is rolled out.

4) The last HD channel I remember being added was TNT...not exactly compelling by my book. I could care less if Bravo-HD is added as MPEG-4 and I can't get it. If a network I really want (ESPN-2 anyone?) is added as MPEG-4 only, I'll deal with it then.

5) After reading Mark's review, I really really want a 942. :D
