1.2m Andrews dish in pristine condition

I found an almost new 1.2m andrews dish on kijiji for $80. The dish is very clean and looks like it was kept indoors for most of its lifespan. One thing I noticed it does not have the original mount and has a smaller mount custom fitted. Maybe someone with experience can identify the mount.

Looks nice must be for a 1 meter mount.

As far as I can see the mount is not from Channel Master. Somebody just took it from another dish and adopted to CM. It does not look as strong as original CM but will do the job....I think.

That's a DTV Slimline mount. And it looks to be a 1.0M dish. The size is cast in the molding on the back of the dish

That mount will be fine as long as you use the support arms....which I suggest anyway, if you are going to wall mount it.

I think you are right. I didnt look at the molding or measure the size. I asked the owner if it was 1.2m and he said yes. I think he really didnt know much about dishes. When i picked it up it was a little too easy to fit into my car. When i go home I will check and confirm.

Andyboy90 Do not worry, you've got 120 dish. Distance between bolts on the face of the dish is 178mm and it is 6.76 times smaller than horizontal size of the dish.
When you get home you will see molding stamp on it's back, it will look exactly like this
Among all Channel Master antennas, 1.2m of course is there. In addition I have 0.35cm, 0.75cm (not added to photo-session ), 0.9m, 1m and 1.8m. Of course all of them have unique strength ribs pattern.

Yes, feedarms are OK, they can last for long time (problems can appear if installation near salty water). The plastic LNB-holder is bigger "pain" as it is not so durable and does not hold LNB in proper position..... that is IMHO.

Nice dish, have fun with it on FTA. Just wondering, will a 1.2m dish work better than a 1m dish? Will signal quality improve? Been thinking about getting one and trying for those far Eastern satellites where this location is out of the footprint.

By the way, re-using these old dishes is an environmentally responsible thing to do, keeps them out of the waste stream, wish there were more ways we could find ones needing "adoption."

Surface of aperture of 1.2m antenna is more than 30% bigger than surface of aperture of 1m dish. Therefore, performance of 1.2m antenna system is much better. And this is not only theory but also from experience..
